  4. #### ATTENTION ####
  5. This file may be distributed freely as long as it remains absolutely
  6. unmodified.  Any long term distribution such as CD-ROMs must obtain
  7. written permission from the publisher before distibuting.

  10. To update:
  11.  
  12. Please follow these instructions closely to update your system to this version.
  13. And, of course, MAKE A BACKUP before installing.  PLEASE REVIEW ALL OF THE
  14. INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING THE INSTALLATION.
  15.  
  16. 1] Replace the current copy of the APPLICATION ONLY with the new application
  17. file named "Hermes v2.0".  You may rename it whatever you wish.  Also, replace
  18. the file named "Options" in your "Externals" folder with the copy
  19. distributed with this version.  You may also delete your "Transfer Protocols"
  20. file.  It is no longer necessary.

  22. 2] Run the Update2.0 application and select your Hermes Shared file.
  23.  
  24. 3] Open the new application and select your Hermes Shared file as you
  25. will be prompted to do.
  26.  
  27. 3] Go to the Sysop menu and select your desired number of nodes.
  28.  
  29. 4] Quit and restart the program.
  30.  
  31. 5] Open Node Prefs for each node and set the appropriate values for your
  32. setup.
  33.  
  34. 6] Unregistered users are now finished.  Registered users read on...
  35.  
  36. This version requires that registered users enter an updated serial
  37. number.  All old serial numbers are invalid, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOGON and
  38. do not allow other users to logon until you have replaced your serial number.
  39. Instructions for obtaining a new 2.0 serial number are found in the document
  40. distributed on the support BBS called "Upgrade20" in directory one.
